[net.cooks] Interesting variations on spaghetti sauce....

taylor@sdccsu3.UUCP (03/19/84)

For those who, like me, REALLY like `` HOT '' food, this spaghetti
sauce recipe is a must (it has to be good - my Father couldn't eat
the spaghetti since he claimed it was 'too hot'!!!)

(note that these are all approximations as I cook by dumping lots
of stuff in and mixing-tasting-adding until its good and spicy)

2 12-Oz. cans of Tomato Sauce (prefereably with chunks of tomatoes)
1 Clove fresh garlic, finely chopped
a small onion, chopped finely
a bunch of mushrooms, either previously fried in butter or just cut up
(if fried, add the butter too!)

1/4 cup HOT Salsa (the 'secret' ingredient)
a few tablespoons or thereabouts of any of the following spices;
  (mixed) Italian Seasonings,
  (dried) red chili peppers
  pepper
salt and sugar, if you REALLY think it's necessary (I don't)
  dehydrated onions
powdered garlic (yes, we also add real onions and garlic, but, like I
said above, dis stuff be HOT!)

Mix all ingredients together in a saucepan, and let simmer for at
least 45 minutes...add water as it begins to get drier

If there is any cheese lying around, I also chop this up and add it
especially sharp chedder and parmesan/romano cheeses..

Cook spaghetti and serve with generous glasses of liquid.

	Enjoy!
