Does anyone out there (especially if you work for Sun Microsystems) know if there is any way of displaying more than 256 colors on the screen at a given time? I have graphics software which was running on a VAX hooked to a Raster Technologies framebuffer and rasterscan screen. I no longer have sufficient access to the aforementioned equipment but can readily access the Sun (600?). I was reading the graphics manual and sadly discovered that you can only define a color map with 8-bits/pixel; so if there is any hope, PLEASE, PLEASE let me know!!
