I am very interested in obtaining Kanji fonts for TeX. If anyone has had any luck obtaining information about this I would appreciate your forwarding it to me. Can anyone give me a brief explanation about how to convert the Hershey font data into TeX fonts? There have been numerous postings to the net that provide pieces of the puzzle, but so far I've been unable to put it all together. I have the following programs: The original Hershey font data HFONT - hershey to superplot font file PLPS - superplot plot file to postscript PLTX - superplot plot file to text TXPL - text to superplot plot file TEXT_PS - text to postscript HERSEL - hershey to postscript font HERPS - hershey to postscript GFTOPXL - generic font to PXL PXTOCH - PXL to character CHTOPX - character to PXL PLTOTF - .PL file to .TFM file TFTOPL - .TFM file to .PL file AFTOP - .AFM file to .PL file The closest thing I came up with was using HERSEL to create postscript fonts from the Hershey stuff. This gave me a .PRO, .AFM, and .MAP file. I can then use AFTOP to create a .PL file from the .AFM and PLTOTF to then create a .TFM file for TeX. Unfortunately that doesn't give me the .PXL file that TeX needs. Can anyone give me help to do this? Unfortunately we do NOT have Postscript at this time. Thanks.
