Hi -- Sorry to be repetitious, but the School of the Day is ***MIT*** ------- I'm looking for info on MIT's PhD CS program, which I've just been accepted into. I'm primarily interested in Computer Graphics/Image Processing. Anything to say about it? About prelims? About area III? Comments about professors, teaching requirements? Drop me a line -- I'd love to hear it!! If you have ANYTHING to say about MIT, be it good, bad warnings, recommendations, feelings about the program, school, area, (I'm talking ANYTHING) please send me mail as soon as possible. I'm in great need of fast info! Feel free to cross post this to anyplace you also might think would generate responses. Thanks in advance, David Baraff allegra!deb AT&T Bell Laboratories P.S. This same message may be repeated later, with MIT replaced with {CMU, Stanford, Caltech} depending on acceptances/rejections received by me. Sorry for possible future repetition!!

"Computer Graphics" 19:4 (November 1985) pp. 113-150 has the latest edition of the Computer Graphics Education Directory. This has "objective" information comparing gradute programs in computer graphics at all schools that replied to the survey. The next edition is in preparation now. This should answer some of the questions prospective students have, although for obvious reasons the important "subjective" information is not there. Any school that has a program in computer graphics that is not listed in the directory but wishes to be listed should contact Steve Cunningham, the chair of the ACM SIGGRAPH Education Committee. He can be reached at the following address.
