[comp.graphics] Perspective projection from CAD model

thornton@ssc-vax.UUCP (03/25/87)

I need some graphics software for what I think is a pretty generic
application. Before I sit down to write it myself, I thought I would see if
anyone in netland has written such a program that I may have, or perhaps even
purchase ($$$).

I planned to write it in C for a Sun 3 workstation. The program requirements
are as follows:

Given:

1. Data file from a constructive solid geometry modeling machine
(such as PADL-2) for a single object
2. Object surface reflectance data
3. Camera system position and orientation
4. Camera transformation parameters
5. Illuminant position and orientation
6. Illuminant parameters

Produce:

A shaded perspective projection of the object with hidden lines and surfaces
removed and with surface normal vectors given for every pixel (or maybe groups
of pixels)

E-mail replies are fine. Thanks in advance,

Ken
