Clearly(?) the discussion of local names for similar foods, and not so similar foods has spent its course. (i.e. garbage is edible, trash is not etc. etc.) In the interest of preserving net.cooks for cooking related, and food related articles, maybe the discussion of words can be moved to net.languages or what ever else is available.
