I would like to find some software to generate Chernoff faces: %A Herman Chernoff %Z Stanford %T The Use of Faces to Represent Points in k-Dimensional Space Graphically %J Journals of the American Statistical Association %V 68 %N 342 %D June 1973 %P 361-368 What I can tell from the original article is it ran on IBM mainframes. I am aware of similar work shown in Tufte's book in data display (aka: how to lie with graphics) and I know the 1979 ACM/SIGGRAPH slide set has two LASL/LANL slides with faces, but no one there was able to help me. I would prefer the full 18 dimensions HC used in his paper. We have a variety of plotting packages: DI-3000, DISPLA, S, dataplot, and others like Mac and PC packages. I would also consider the ability to use icons other than faces (the second LANL example uses tank trucks to represent oil companies).
