I'm looking for inexpensive but good ways to make slides from an 8-bit deep AED 767 terminal (575x767). I've used a Beseler 4500 film recorder which worked fairly well at the terminal's slowest scan rate. Their new 4600 series can deal with the 24 kHz line rate for somewhere around $4000. We also have several microVAX II/GPX's with a line rate of ~54 kHz which none of the Beseler models can handle. I've heard that there are now several digital cameras for under $10K but haven't been able to ferret out any specifics. Does anyone know of such devices or have good experiences with any other cheap film recorders? A color printer which can deal with gray levels would be acceptable.
