Greetings. I find myself in a position of needing information on film
plotters and related technologies. I was hoping that some of you
enlightened net people could help me.
As far as my needs go about all I can tell you now is I need high
resolution (2K x 2K is a must and 4K x 4K would be better) and I need
color capabilities. Sorry if this is overly vague but I'm not sure I
even know the right questions to ask at this point.
My questions to the net would be:
1) Who makes these devices right now and what are the price ranges for
this kind of equipment?
2) What are the advantages/disadvantages of film plotters over thermal
transfer plotters or other graphics plotters.
3) In the case of film plotters is there some way of evaluating the
optical resolution vs the bitmap resolution?
4) Would anyone with experience using film (or other) plotters be
willing to share positive or negative experiences with particular
brand names.
Again, my apologies if this is too vague a description. Any pointers as
to what I need to to find out to ask meaningful questions would be
appreciated. Thanx in advance......
