Ariel, the mistress of make-do, said that she can use all of her gadgets for the cooking projects that she does. That may be all well and fine for her, but I love my Cuisinart. I am not usually a name-dropper, but this machine has out-performed my mixer, blender, and hand mixing with a spoon. It also grated cheese (soft, medium, and hard types) in a way that beat cutting up my knuckles. As for garlic, the Cuisinart minces the little devils better than my collection of chef knives! O.K., it probably doesn't whip cream very well, but that is no problem for me. Like I said, I have a blender and a mixer that can fill in when the food processor can't. I bought a cheapie recipe book to show me how to do some simple tricks with my machine and it makes real nice, even cutting a reality. I don't complain about having to clean it, either, since it is plastic, most foods rinse right off and then all I have to do is sponge it clean with soapy water. Here's my vote for the promotion of the usage of food processors!!!
