About a month ago I posted a request for information about solids modelling software, and in particular, asked if anyone knew much about HOOPS, an object-oriented graphics package. This is a summary of the responses concerning HOOPS' creators, Ithaca Software (previously Flying Moose Systems). First, I want to thank all those who took the time to respond; your efforts are appreciated. The only responses I got went like "I know all the people at Flying Moose and they are of the highest calibre". One person claimed she knew of someone who was actually using HOOPS, but when I wrote back asking to be put in contact with the individual, there was no response. So apparently no one out there reading this newsgroup has used HOOPS. In case any of you are interested in my experiences with Ithaca Software, I have felt like the people there are fairly bright and interested in putting out a good product, but I have been waiting about four months now for a demo tape. The last contact I had with them was over a month ago, at which time I was told I would be getting the tape real soon. The person who called apologized for being two weeks behind in returning his phone calls. My gut reaction is that they either don't want or don't need my business.
