A local department store has been having a sale on Cuisinart food
processors, but not, alas, the DLC-X model, which is the largest in
the range. Do any of you gourmets know of reliable mail-order
places that would have this item at a discount?

	Many thanks to dlp at akgua for recommending Zabar's at 80th and
Bdwy NY 10024.  They have a toll-free #: 800-221-3347, but be patient.
They quoted me $300 for the largest model, list $375, so I intend trying
a few more places.

I can't guarantee they'll have this particular model, but for most gourmet
cooking supplies, you can't beat Zabar's, 249 W. 80th, NY NY  10024;
212-787-2000. They're the people who won a court case against
Cuisinart when the latter refused to supply them after Zabar's
started discounting their processors; obviously, this was long
before anyone else was.

Also, if you're ever in NY, Zabar's has one of the best collections
of gourmet delicacies in the city (with all respect to Balducci fans...).
It's also a zoo... *like a total experience, fer sure*.
They're on the corner of Broadway & 80th.

(Note: posting to the net because of possible wide interest....)
