I have a student who wants to display some statistical information on various e.g. provinces in a graphical manner. To do this we are looking for a map database. I have heard of a magtape gettable from somewhere in the U.S., but I'm not looking for SUPER detail, and I'm wondering if anybody has a reasonable sized database they could send me. If you are on NetNorth, it would be preferable if you sent it to my account: FCTY7053@RYERSON.BITNET. If you have something on uucp-net, send me mail, and I can set up uucp to call to get it. To give you the idea of the resolution we're looking for: This will be displayed on an IBM-PC or Atari ST class colour monitor, and we would like to be able to do a few zooms. Accuracy to about 10-100 km seems about right. Political boundaries are also desirable. Thanks ../Dave

I'd also appreciate pointers on getting the U.S. government (or any other) map database (Canada, North America, or World) on tape.
