Ahhhh, yes, Spaghetti Carbonara!!!  I have done a few recipe alterations
for flavor enhancement.  Sometimes I mix bacon and ham strips in the
sauce.  I have used skim milk and low cholesterol (sp.) margarine in
place of the heavy cream or half and half and the butter with good-taste
results.  I also read in a magazine to substitute the bacon with
pepperoni slices, which I have also tried.  Yummy!!  I have also
substituted the regular fettucine noodles with spinach noodles for
a different taste sensation.  There are many ways to vary a recipe,
if imagination is allowed to come into play.
