This discussion on sopaipillas has whet my appetite, and brought back fond memories of a pleasant evening spent gorging myself on stacks of this delicious bread. I was in Denver in a mad millionaire's pink adobe Mexican restaurant/castle, the first and only time I had them. Does anyone know the name of the place - it has a three-story waterfall, several full-size theaters, an arcade, and so-so cheap food other than the sopaipillas? It's a fun place, in spite of the food. Well, my local NJ Mexican restaurant - El Ranchero - also has sopaipillas. However, their version is a giant deep- fried bread shell full of ice cream, honey and cinnamon. It was good, but I prefer the first version better. Since my local source isn't quite what I'd hoped for, any recipes out there? Loreen Breda, AT&T Bell Laboratories

The name of the mad millionaire's Mexican restaurant is Casa Bonita. Although the food isn't that great the atmosphere is really interesting. -- Darrell McIntosh AT&T Information Systems Laboratories, Denver (303) 538-1376, {ihnp4, houxe, stcvax!ihnp4}!drutx!darrell
