	Try _Procedural Elements for Computer Graphics_ by David F. Rogers, 
published by McGraw-Hill, 1985.  He gives details on scan-conversion, area fill,
hidden surface removal, shading, etc.  His writing is generally clear, and he
gives lots of examples.

A while back there was a request for graphics textbooks.  One of the
recommended texts was Foley and Van Dam.  In response to a request for
the projected date for the revised (2nd) edition, I received this.

. Our objective is to have it available by SIGGRAPH '89 in Boston.
