People have been asking how to receive the latest and greatest version of my raytracer (hereafter referred to as the MTV raytracer). It is available from drizzle.cs.uoregon.edu (128.223.4.1). Also available via download are several other raytracers, Eric Haines' NFF package, the Utah Teapot converted to NFF, and a ray tracing bibliography courtesy of Paul Heckbert and Eric Haines. (Thanks!) If you have no Internet access, you can try sending me mail. I attempt to answer as much mail as I can, but haven't been really great about it. (Thesis and all). I am open for contributions to this archive, subject to my space limitations (this comes out of my personal disk quota, and I am a lowly graduate student). If you have material pertaining to raytracing, or graphics in general, please feel free to tell me about it. I am also thinking of changing the status of my program from public domain to distributable under a GNU-like copyright notice. The current version will remain public domain, but the next release will probably be copyrighted. This will hopefully increase the experimentation and sharing that I wished to encourage by releasing it. I am willing to listen to feedback / alternatives. I have tried mailing you, and it bounced. Nor have I been able to connect via ftp. I have gotten quite a bit of information, and may be making my first stabs in a few weeks, though (at a 'tracer, that is). Randy -- Randy J.
