[comp.graphics] converting .im files to TIFF format

Can anyone tell me how to convert from the 'im raster toolkit' format
to the TIFF format?  Is there a description of the TIFF format anywhere.

TIFF is a very "rich" format and evolving format that from Aldus and
MicroSoft. (I just found-out that NeXT is going to use it and EPS in
their workstation.)
