i'm a newcomer to computer graphics and i would like to generate some images of 3 dimensional brain structures. I have (several) segmentations done, but I need some way to display them. I've got a Vaxstation 3200 with an 8 bit/pixel color monitor running Ultrix and X11. Does anyone know of any public domain source code that I could use to render these structures? I don't care how efficient it is and any help would be appreciated, even if the source would need to hacked to get it to run on my system. (I realize that I'll probably need to write the device-dependent stuff myself, but a package that would do the shading and/or ray tracing would be helpful.) I've heard about a package called MOVIE.BYU but don't know if it is public domain and didn't know where to call at BYU to get more information to find out whether it's likely to be useful to me or not. i'm just starting to read this newsgroup--sorry if this is a question that's come up recently. =- ...!decvax!decuac - Patrick Barta \ The Johns Hopkins Hospital ...!seismo!mimsy - -> !aplcen!osiris!patr Baltimore, MD / ...!allegra!mimsy -
