Since someone asked, here's my delicious potato salad recipe. Unfortunately, I don't know quantities, I do it by feel. But you can't go too far wrong. Boil, peel and cut up potatoes. Cool. Cut up some green pepper--aside from taste, it really looks pretty. The dressing-- Equal parts sour cream and mayonnaise. Blend well. Add a generous amount of vinegar, to taste. Season with salt, pepper, and (if available) chopped fresh parsley. Pour on potatoes and pepper. Mix well. Note that it is impossible to mix this properly with any implements other than two hands. Enjoy. Oh by the way--make sure the sour cream and mayo are well blended BEFORE adding the vinegar. For some reason, if those two are blended everything works fine but if you add the vinegar too soon, the mayo forms lumps that are difficult to work out. Bon appetit. Since there has been much discussion of potato salad lately, I thought I would point out that the June Gourmet Magazine (in their "Gastronomie Sans Argent" section) has many different (and fancy) potato salad recipes. I haven't had a chance to try any yet, so I don't know how good they are. -- *>> Anita Cochran <<* uucp: {kpno, ut-sally, ut-ngp}!utastro!anita or seismo!ut-sally!utastro!anita arpa: anita@ut-ngp snail: Astronomy Department The University of Texas at Austin Austin, TX 78712 at&t: (512) 471-4461
