I apologize if this is the wrong newsgroup for the following, but... I just got a complete AT&T 6386 system, and it has a nice color monitor with some sort of graphics capability in the video board. I have run a few applications (paint programs) so I know it can draw lines etc. I also have two communications programs with it: "softcall" and something called "terminal" in some multi-tasking (386 "simul-task") package. (I'm running DOS on the thing). Do either of these programs recognize any escape sequences that cause them to do some graphics? If not, does anybody know of any available communications software programs that do? Is there any standard for escape sequences into grahics mode? ANSII? My goal is to use my PC mostly for a terminal, and I want to take advantage of the graphics in it. SOme program that had a tektronix compatible mode would be good, but anything that lists the escape sequences is fine, since I can rewrite the remote software to use them. Any help is appreciated (even if its only a better place on the net to post this!)
