I have images (remote sensed, gray level) that differ from each other primarily by a non-uniform shrinking. I need to transform one, or both, images so that specified features of both images will align when the two are overlaid. I could imagine a number of interpolation based schemes that could probably be used, but would like to see what other people have done. For example, is this sort of thing done in the old VICAR program (from JPL, I think), and is VICAR still distributed, supported, or used? Any pointers to programs or algorithms that address this problem will be appreciated. Thanks, Bill Johnston WEJohnston@lbl.gov, or ...ucbvax!lbl-csam.arpa!johnston
