     SECOND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON COMPUTER AIDED DRAFTING,
            DESIGN AND MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY (CADDM'89)


                         OCTOBER 22-25, 1989
                           Hangzhou, China




                     T H E    C O N F E R E N C E



     CADDM'89 to be  held  in  China  will  be  hosted  by  the  China
Engineering  Graphics  Society  (CEGS) and California State University
(CSUS) and will be sponsored by Automation Technology  Institute,  USA
(ATI)  and  the  United  Nations  Educational, Scientific and Cultural
Organization (UNESCO).




                               A I M S



     The purpose of the  CADDM'89  is  to  promote  the  international
exchange  of research and expertise in the areas of Computer Graphics,
CAD/CAM and CIM.  Recent developments in practical  applications  will
also be emphasized.




                    C A L L   F O R   P A P E R S



     A.  Abstracts of 100-200 words should be submitted by January 31,
1989.   Abstracts should include the title of the paper, and the name,
affiliation, mailing address and telephone number of the author.

     B.  Authors will be notified by February 28, 1989.

     C.   Authors  should   submit   final   manuscripts   ready   for
photo-offset by May 15, 1989.

     All papers will be published in the conference proceedings.

     Suggested topics for conference papers include, but should not be
limited to the following areas:

     Advances in Theory and Algorithms of Computer Graphics

     Application of  Computer  Graphics  or  CAD/CAM  in  Aeronautics,
Architecture,   Astronautics,   Bioengineering,   Cartography,   Civil
Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mapping,  Mechanical
Engineering, Meteorology, Photogrammetry, Publishing and Shipbuilding.

     CAD/CAM and Engineering Data Base

     Computer Integrated manufacturing (CIM)

     Computer Generated Art

     Graphics Standards

     Human Factors and User Interface

     Image Processing and Data Compression

     Integration of CAD/CAM Techniques

     Knowledge Engineering and Expert Systems in CAD/CAM and CIM

     New Hardware for CAD/CAM

     Teaching CAD/CAM




                   P A Y M E N T    S C H E D U L E



     Conference registration fee, $400.  Half of this fee is  due  May
15 with the submission of final manuscript.

     Balance of the registration fee must  be  paid  by  September  1,
1989.

     Late registration will be accepted but papers will not appear  in
the conference proceedings.  (LAte registration fee is $450)

     SPOUSE PROGRAM.  Special arrangements have been made for  persons
accompanying  conference  participants  to  visit  schools, handicraft
factories, a Chinese  household,  art  museums,  shopping  areas,  and
scenic  attractions  near  Hangzhou.   The  registration  fee  of $200
includes both conference banquets, transportation, meals,  guides  and
admissions.  Registration and payment should be completed by September
1, 1989.



                T R A V E L   A R R A N G E M E N T S



     CITY TOUR.  A short 2 day tour of  scenic  attractions,  schools,
factories  and  local  city markets has been arranged for October 26th
and 27th.  The cost of $25 includes meals, transportation, guides  and
admissions.  Registration and payment should be completed by September
1, 1989.

     POST-CONFERENCE TOUR.  A week-long  tour  is  being  arranged  to
visit  the  Great  Wall,  Terra-Cotta Warriors, the Forbidden City and
other attractions as well as the cities of  Beijing,  Shanghai,  Xian,
Guilin,  and Hong Kong.  Persons interested in the tour should request
a tour brochure.

     Information  for  air  travel  to  the   conference   and   hotel
information will be provided to conference participants.




             I N D U S T R Y    P A R T I C I P A T I O N



     Industry representatives may make arrangements for exhibit  space
during the conference to display and demostrate their products.
