[comp.graphics] Matrix Film Recorder Format

I am interested in converting a standard Utah RLE image file to the 
Matrix SCOTAL format.  Matrix said I could purchase the manual for $150
that gives the details on the SCOTAL format.  Unfortuanately, I don't
think my department would be able to spend this amount of money.

Does anybody have a program that converts an RLE file to SCOTAL format,
or a description of the SCOTAL format itself?  Please respond to
