    As the subject says, I need a description of the TIFF format.
If someone could E-mail me or post such information or at least 
pointers to this information I would appreciate it.

Hewlett-Packard published a pamphlet called The Tag Image File Format (TIFF)
a couple of years ago. I don't know the part number, but you ought to be able t
find it by calling the Customer Information Center at 800-752-0900.
