[comp.graphics] source code for published programs

annala@neuro.usc.edu (A J Annala) (03/27/89)

I am getting tired of keying in programs published in the following two books:

      I. O. Angell & G. Griffith. High-resolution Computer Graphics
Using FORTRAN 77. Halsted Press. 1987. (Third Printing).

      I. O. Angell. Advanced Graphics with the IBM Personal Computer.
      Halsted Press. 1985.

I am also frustrated about converting pseudocode from the following book:

      D. F. Rogers. Procedural Elements for Computer Graphics. McGraw-
      Hill. 1985

Does anyone have programs from these books already keyed into the computer?
If so, I would appreciate receiving a copy of these programs. It would make
the process of learning three dimensional graphics, ray tracing, rendering,
etc a lot more pleasant for at least one biopsychologist.

Thanks, AJ Annala

>Tired of key in programs...

We got an optical character reader (OCR) partially for this reason.
Unfortunately, the quality requires improvement. Regardless of price
and software quality. But the technology is slowly getting better,
watch that space.

I remember one magazine, I think RUN from commodore a while back, did
barcodes. You get a barcode reader, (not expensive) and all the programs
would be have barcodes next to them. I don't think it went over well
since I don't see it anymore, but I thought it was a good idea. OCR's are descent,
but not infalible. That is what the post office uses. The ones that can't
be read go to LSM operators who type a 2 digit code on em, and they go
back through. Or they get hand sorted. But those can really be picky at times.
