I am in a shop just starting to get into Suns. We have seen suns at shows with lots of great graphics on the desktop, in windows, etc. and of course, we want to be able to do it to. I assume there are a lot of places which have images around. We have a few GIF files (cause there are some IBM PCers, MAcs, etc. around), but we have not yet found a way to convert these files into something that we could use for Sunview. In fact, even within sunview raster files (we have a half dozen or so) we have not yet figure out how to view the files NICELY other than telling sunview to come up with them on the desktop. Am I missing something here? Shouldnt I be able to display them in a graphics window of some sort? If this is common knowlege to Sun users, feel free to send me email letting me know the answer. Oh, we are using the Sun 386is - which may make a difference. There are things missing from the 386i that apparently others have - like a chesstool. -- Larry W.
