I have become involved with a project to display a fairly rapidly changing network system. I have done a little graphics programming with SunCore and SunPhigs but these packages essentially require you to redraw the entire screen when any single (possibly small) change is made to the image. Since the new project may require image changes up to several times a second, the high level device independent graphics packages are inadequate. Even if SunPhigs can redraw at a sufficient pace the almost constant flicker from the full redraws would make it unusable. Given that a color Sun 3/160 with a graphics processor board is the hardware to be used, can someone suggest what graphics software system to use for rapid updates. Please keep in mind that I am new to graphics programming. Would low level Sun graphics be appropriate? I have heard of pixrects and SunView graphics but do not know much at all about them. What about Xwindows graphics? Any help will be greatly appreciated. ------------------------------------------------------------- Gary R.
