[comp.graphics] Panasonic Video Interface -> PC ?

Howdy,
I have just recently bought a Panasonic "Apogee" personal portable
digital copier. It consists of a flatbed 200dpi scanner and thermal
transfer printer. It actually works quite well (on smooth paper).
In the documentation that accompanied the copier was information
on another product that is designed to work with the copier. This is
the Panasonic Video interface device. The interface takes NTSC video
input via an RCA pin-jack and connects to the copier via a db-15 connector.
The video interface will capture a picture (in a real slow 2 seconds) and
send it to the copier where it is then printed.

First, has anyone else ever seen or used the copier with the video
interface, if so, do you know what the resolution is?

Second, does anyone know what kind of signals are produced on the db15
interface connector?

My desire is to build a simple interface so that I can use the video
interface module with my PC as a frame grabber (so its slow .. its still
pretty cheep (~200.00 for the interface)

I am assuming that the video interface produces either serial or
parallel information that is sent to the printer. if thats the case it should
be pretty simple to build the additional hardware to read it into the
PC port. If i manage to get this far I will work on a program to produce
TIFF images from the input.

Any information at all would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance
