I'd be surprised if this company would sell map software indpendent of their car-locating computers. It would seem that control over map databases would sell more of these computers.

No, you can buy the maps and PC-based software to process them. Etak has some PC software vendor handling the distribution and marketing for that product; their name is not immediately available to me but you can get it from Etak. John Nagle
