In my experience, small *quality* coffee grinders are very good for spice grinding (food blenders are not). They can be used even on 'toughies' like fenugreek seeds and fennel seeds. But why grind fennel seeds? I always use them whole, frying them in the oil (or ghee) until they swell up, at which point they become quite tender. I've heard some denigratory comments about Indian restaurants. Please realize there is a whole spectrum ranging from Indian fast-food type places to very good class acts (usually in big cities). I am fortunate enough to have an Indian equivalent of McDonalds within lunch-hour range of work. Guess where I spend my lunch hours? After beef rendang, steak tastes bland.......long live Indian Cuisine. Donald Graft ...ihnp4!tellab1!tellab2!dag
