[comp.graphics] Need information on .arc files

Well, the batman.arc file was real godd...now if only I could read it.
Could someone please post info on the .arc compression format, and
could someone post the batman gif without the arc?

I have an Apple IIGS running SHRConvert 2.1 (by Jason Harper), and it
does a wonderful job with GIFs (and just about any other format you can
name, provided it's not IBM :), but I can't unarc the file to get to it.

PLEASE don't arc/zip/sq '.gif' files! They are already compressed and
the resultant file only gets bigger. Not too bad in the case of batman
( couple of hundred bytes bigger ), but it can get nasty for big files.
