Gee, with a lead-in like that, how can I resist. The following
announcement will appear in the next issue of Computer Graphics,
the SIGGRAPH newsletter. Pardon this posting if this appeared
before in comp.graphics (I can't remember if I posted it before
or not).

Nominations are solicited for candidates to run for the five director
positions on the SIGGRAPH executive committee in the elections to be
held in the Spring of 1990. Nominees must be voting members of ACM and
of SIGGRAPH and must agree to serve a two-year term beginning July 1,
1990. According to the SIGGRAPH Bylaws, a minimum of eight candidates
must be selected by the nominating committee.

The nominating committee comprises three members of ACM SIGGRAPH: the
past chair of SIGGRAPH, who chairs the nominating committee, and two
others who are not currently serving as members of the executive
committee. Suggestions for nominations may be made to any member of
the nominating committee. The deadline for receiving nominations is
October 1, 1989. Nominations should include the complete name,
address, and telephone number of the person(s) being nominated.
