Has anyone had any experience (good or bad) with the CAMRA (Computer Aided Medical Reconstruction and Analysis) workstation from ISG technologies in Ontario Canada? Basically this is a graphics workstation designed to do 3D volume reconstructions from CT and MRI images. It consists of a Convergent TEchnologies Unix box (system V), and their own multi processor graphics board(s) based on the TI TM320c25 dsp chips, and their medical reconstruction software. They are asking 124 k$. My questions are: 1) Any major problems with Convergent Technologies workstations (as compared with Suns for example).? 2) How does this station compare to a Sun-TAAC combo? or 3) a Sun - ATT pixel machine combo? Their software seems to be OK, though they don't offer ray tracing yet. One big plus is that they offer (sell?) access to the libraries so we can develop our own software (a rarity amongst medical equipment (esp. radiology) suppliers). Please e-mail me and I wil summarize if their is interest. (sorry if this message appears twice. would someone e-mail me to let me know this made it to the net?) dsc@osteocyber.ortho.hmc.psu.edu "Born to Hack ... Full Metal Keyboard" -- David S.
