Please forgive if this is one of those "been asked a thousand times questions". I am seriously in need of a program that will convert GIF format files (such as the recently available hurrican HUGO satellite images) to TIFF format. I could use anything running under Ultrix, MSDOS, or on a MAC. I can't ftp, but can reach things through bitnet or UUCP. Please E-Mail or post here. The best Mac program for analyzing, editing, and converting GIF, TIFF, and PICT files is Image by Wayne Rasband of NIMH -- not to be confused with the NCSA ImageTool program. Both the program and the full source code are available on SUMEX-AIM.STANFORD.EDU, in /info-mac.
