[comp.graphics] Xlib help

fenn@wpi.wpi.edu (Brian Fennell) (09/25/89)

Just spent 12 hours straight banging my head agenst a decstation
trying to learn to use Xlib. So far I managed to make a window.

If someone would kindly send me a short piece of commented C code
using Xlib to draw some lines and other primitives in a nice, polite
window I will probably email you my first born as a small token of
 my gratitude.

If you're really interested in using raw Xlib, rather than a higher
level X programming environment such as DECwindows or OSF Motif, I
would strongly recommend that you start with one of the many tutorial
books on Xlib. My favorite is *Introduction to the X Window System* by
Oliver Jones (published by Prentice-Hall).
