We still have the old release. I certainly never saw any copyright notices on it. If it wasn't public domain, it certainly was freely distributable - and in any case, if they thought it was copyright, they never tried enforcing it. However, it was the most horribly written code I have ever seen. Truly awful, The worst abuse of so-called Fortran I have ever seen Terrible. Badly designed. Badly implemented.
