There have been some production problems recently at ACM, as a result of which the July 1989 issue has slipped publication by a quarter. July is expected to mail by the end of October, while the October 1989 issue should be in the mail by the end of November. The January 1990 issue should be out on time, which is to say in January of 1990. Excluding the July and October 1989 issues, the final manuscripts for 21 accepted papers are now at ACM, in various stages of the publication pipeline (copy-editting, proofing, etc.) and scheduled for appearance in 1990; the October 1990 issue is nearly full. There are another 57 papers in various stages of the review and revision pipeline, which is operating in a timely fashion thanks to the efforts of the TOG editors and referees. Both ACM and I greatly regret the recent delays, and hope that the readership will bear with us. The problem should be corrected shortly. John C. Beatty Editor-in-Chief ACM Transactions on Graphics
