Does anyone know what the > PEX distribution should include --- or an easier way to get a copy of > it? Which PEX are you refering to? There used to be a subset of PEX 3.0 on the MIT X11R3 tape. This was used by DEC, Sun & HP at SIGRAPH88 as sort of a proof of concept demo. That was done by the University of Michigan. The .h files you are refering to probably just describe the data structures used in the PEX protocol, - probably version 3.2. That's all you get right now. If you belong to an organization that is a member of the MIT X consortium you can join in sponsoring the Sample Implementation of PEX (PEX-SI). This would give you the right to receive the next distribution of the "prerelease". Next spring sometime, the PEX-SI should start Alpha Test (PEX 4.0). I believe the criteria for alpha sites within the X consortium are fairly strict. Only sites that promise to really bring it up and provide useful feedback can get the alpha code. Next summer sometime is the Beta Release. I think that is open to all consortium members. In terms of when the public will get it? The original schedule was December 1990 for delivery to the MIT X consortium. So it would be available with the next release of X after that. IF schedule holds. -Jan Hardenbergh - jch@apollo.hp.com - HP Graphics Technology Division@Apollo
