according to 12/11 InfoWorld. $3000 on DOS-386, Sun-3,4 and Silicon Graphics 4D. It is called a "Developer's Toolkit", I presume to disinguish it from turnkey applications. Programmers would add CAD, animation, and scientific visualization front ends to complete and application. No mention was made whether source code was included or academic discounts, although Pixar gives discounts on its hardware. The RenderMan book has been in bookstores since summer.
