Would someone familiar with J. Serra's work on nontraditional image processing techniques post a brief opinion (maybe even a review) of the principal contributions made in the original version of this book and the subsequent two volume release? I suspect these new techniques might be of interest to many people in this newsgroup. I am seeing more systems based on Serra's work at various national conferences. Thanks, AJ Annala

Thanks, AJ Annala ---------- The way I understand it is as follows There are 4 fundamental operations Erosion Dilation Opening Closing It's been a while and I memory fails me, but all four operation can be expressed in terms of union, intersection and translation. The best way to undestand is to experiment with simple images BTW, the book is very badly written aurobindo tripathy
