Sounds as if he's talking about Twinings (T.M.), one of whose products
is called "China Black."  It's good, too.  The people at my T'ai Chi
club call it "Rust Monster."

Twinings also markets a Lapsang Souchong.  I can appreciate your
friend's unreadiness for it.  It tastes to me like horse liniment.
