[net.cooks] A use for microwave ovens

robison@eosp1.UUCP (Tobias D. Robison) (10/29/84)

An unobvious use for microwave ovens -- to warm up ice cream.
No longer do you have to wait impatiently for the ice cream to
become a little less icy, to get more flavor. Just pop it in
the oven for EXACTLY the right number of seconds. (Start with
a setting that is too short and work up one second at a time.)

in one of maida heatter's cookbooks she mentions that you can
do something like put it in a food processor to soften it.
