There's a cooperative effort by several graphics vendors (Apollo, DEC,
HP, IBM, SGI, ...) to develop a set of graphics benchmarks.  I'm not
sure how far along they are.  It's called "Graphics Performance
Characterization" and is administered by:

We at NIST are developing conformance tests for PHIGS, available in
late spring 1990.  These will test that implementations follow the
standard correctly, but will not address performance.
