[comp.graphics] displaying pictures on IBM>

Disclaimer: this is a stupid article so you can jump to the next one.

I am looking for a simple program that displays pictures created with
other programs such as windows-paint, draw, designer, drhalo, pcpaintbrush
or some other known software.
I want to place this program in an autoexec file so that it automatically
displays one picture and then if the user hit a key it quits and goes back
to DOS. What is its name and where can I get it?
Hardware: IBM comp. 286 with EGA/VGA

thanks in advance!

You need VPic.

If you have FTP you can get it from Simtel20
in the directory PD:<MSDOS.GIF>

First of all I don't think you question is stupid. There are
three programs that I know of that might help. They are PICEM,
VPIC, and CSHOW. I pulled them down off of the PCEXEC bulletin
board. They are zipped so you will have to get that utility.
Now I need to ask a question along the same lines. Does
anyone have a capture utility that produces just a simple binary
screen capture. The new capture utilities are slick but I can't
use the file that is produced in its compressed form.
