Someone recently commented on the new song out by Kenny Rogers and Shena Easton. The song is called "Why Don't You Stay", it's a remake of a record put out by Bob Seger a few years back. I agree it's probably the best thing Roger's has put out in quite a long time. Much of this is probably do to Easton. This is the first thing she has done that I have liked. I have always thought she had a great voice but I never cared for any of her material. Getting back to Rogers, most of his work since his big comeback six years ago has been pretty bland. But I disagree that he has always been this way. Some of his work with the First Edition is actually very good. It's unfortunate that you really don't hear much of it these days. Of course I'm an old First Edition fan. Long live Reuben James JVS BTL - Naperville Ill.

As I said in my previous posting, the Bob Seger version is called "We've Got Tonite". Now if the Rogers/Easton version has changed the title of the song to "Why Don't You Stay", then this is even more of a ripoff of the orig- inal version, which I consider much superior. When I was down in San Diego for Unicom, a local radio station(sorry, can't remember which) made a comment that I really liked and totally agree with: Bob Seger did the version for true rock/pop affeccianodoes(sp?), and Rogers/Easton did the version for elevator music/Muzak lovers. Please send all flames to /dev/null, I won't reply to any of them, Terry Laskodi
