I apologize if this has been asked a million times before: I am working on several projects which want to transition their current systems towards LANs with bit-mapped graphical workstations running X-windows. The problem is that they have hundreds, if not thousands, of old personal computers that cannot be reasonably upgraded to run X-windows themselves. I have heard that there are a few vendors out there providing systems that run X off of a workstation and download a "simulated X interface" to such underpowered PCs. I thought Gupta was one such provider, but their product is for DBMSs, rather than applications using X. Any suggestions?
