[comp.graphics] Graphics Package

mzaik@phao.eng.ohio-state.edu ( ) (03/16/90)

Hello,

I am looking for a professional graphics package that can do
the following things:

1) receive images from a color scanner
2) able to magify or resize the image in the x or y direction
3) impose a grid ( or a user defined dimesion0 on top of the picture.
4) Be able to print the result back to a plotter or color printer.

I do not if I am asking too much but my application is automize the
process of copying small pictures (color ones) into a gridded larger one
in order to define a pattern for a weaving machine.

I need suggestions to a complete system: color scanner,
color copier or plotter, and the software package. I appreciate
any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

You should definitely look at the
system marketed by ASDG which does
exactly what you want. It's amazing
to watch a 300dpi image being scrolled
thru and magnified in real time on
	the screen.

The hardwade is a Sharp color scanner
with a Commodore Amiga, which has
	excellent color output support.

ASDG can be reached at 925 Stewart St.,
Madison WI 53713, or call 1-608-273-6585...

Cheers,
