[comp.graphics] ACM SIGGRAPH Elections

ksbooth@watcgl.waterloo.edu (Kelly Booth) (05/08/90)

The 1990 elections are underway for ACM SIGGRAPH. Ballots were mailed
to all voting members and should have arrived by May 1. Completed
ballots must be received at ACM Headquarters in New York no later than
June 15 to be counted in the election. Complete details on voting are
included in the material accompanying the ballots.

The election is to select five directors from a field of eight nominees
to serve two-year terms on the ACM SIGGRAPH executive committee. There
are also two proposed amendments to the bylaws that require approval
and a short list of questions polling the membership about the election
process and the recent ACM SIGGRAPH focus group report. Further
information on all of this is included in the material accompanying the
ballots.

If you are a voting member of ACM SIGGRAPH, you are encouraged to cast
your ballot for the candidates of your choice. You are also encouraged
to vote for or against the proposed bylaw amendments and to answer the
questions in the poll. All of these actions will contribute to a more
responsible and responsive organization within SIGGRAPH.

If you are a voting member of ACM, you are encouraged to participate in
the ACM election, which is also underway. The deadline for returning
ballots in that election is somewhat earlier, but there are still a
couple of weeks remaining.
