Hi, folks. My CS-studies are finally drawing to an end, and what better way
is there than to end it with a thesis project on Computer Graphics?!
One part concerns the different image formats availible today, mainly
regarding raster-based pictures. Through obvious channels on the net
I've already collected documents on:
IFF, GIF, TIFF, PCX, PBM, PGM, PPM, FaceSaver, Sun B-W raster files,
FITS and TGA.
Now, there are several big standards missing as yet, and I would greatly
appreciate pointers to or actual formats of among others IMG, X files,
the latest TGA, color Sun files and the MAC-formats. Also, a listing
of 'all' formats would help a lot.
I'd also value comments on the spread and use of the different formats,
which could be hard to find out for some of them, except directly from
the users.
The report will in part or in whole be written in English, and I will
certainly make it availible to anyone who sent me stuff. Maybe also
on a more public scale, we'll see.
